A few quotes from week one in the burbs from my 4 year-old and 2 year-old. Enjoy.
First night, “Mommy, what is that sound?”
“I hear crickets!” exclaims Quinn on a nightly basis.
“I love our new roofdeck!” aka balcony.
“Mommy, there was a zoo at the grocery store.” James referring to the trip to Stew Leonards.
“I see a night creature sleeping on the street”. Yes, road kill. Possum.
“Daddy, we got to drive a car at store today” referring to grocery carts with attached car at Stop ‘N Shop.
“Why aren’t my Brooklyn friends playing with me everyday?”
“Let’s go to a playground where there are lots of kids” when we were at a Trolley Pond Park with just a pond, grass and trees.
“Hey, you wanna go play pirates?”. James making friends at Weed Beach.
“Daddy, I played with Uncle David”. Quinn referring to our boating trip.
“There’s Daddy’s train!”. At least six times a day, I hear this. From our living room window, we get an up-close view of Metro North and Amtrak.
“Quinn, it’s time to go in Landrover again!” James exclaims each and every time we leave the house. It’s like an amusement park ride to him.
“Mommy, when are we going back to Brooklyn?”
